To the praise of his glory

In Ephesians 1:3-14 there are three occurences of some form of "to the praise of his glory"—all connected to God’s action.

1) God chose us (all of us!)…to the praise of his glorious grace (or gracious glory).

2) God (divine passives) chose us (Jews) to the praise of his glory.

3) God sealed you (Gentiles) to the praise of his glory.

The first one sets the tone: a) universal and b) glory connected to grace.
